Scraping could save a ton of time if that's the goal. Typing out 1000 video titles and copy/pasting links versus letting a perl or php script parse it out in mere seconds.
Wordpress doesn't work like that. It has a Category system where you can create and assign categories for each blog post. So there is a check box in each blog post were you can assign it a category.
Because my wordpress blog has never really take advantage, I haven't bothered, apart from "EEVblog" and "Misc" categories etc.
e.g. if you go to test equipment, you automatically get the blog posts that have been tagged with the new "Test Equipment" category I've been doing since this new website started. If I tagged all other 800+ video they'd automatically appear in that list.

So I might just look for a Wordpress Youtube playlist plugin or something to do it a bit cleaner.
