Hi Dave, I've been around since episode one and checked the front page daily for new videos. Now I see the blog is TWO videos behind the youtube account. Yes, I'm aware I can subscribe blah blah and get emails, but it almost seems like you abandoned all the original website visitors and just update the blog page as afterthought. It literally takes 1 minute to update the blog with a youtube embed code. I am aware you don't get the link until the vid is uploaded and you often "set and forget" the uploading process, but still you can do it at least the next day, not a week later. I'm sure your website advertisers would appreciate if the page they have their ads on is not constantly obsolete because everyone already watched the videos on youtube directly.

You don't have to repeat yourself now, I know you said it's "your blog" and you don't give a shit about what other people have to say and you will do what you want, but I hope you remember that viewers like me are your bread and butter, and despite your attitude towards us, you will accommodate the "old" viewers by keeping the front page fresh and not abandoned like it is now.

Middle finger? C'mon now this is not even remotely nice. Why? Because Dave's blog page is not up to date. Who cares?

The website has been 1-3 days behind for as long as I can remember.. no big deal - either wait or check youtube directly.

It actually takes around 5 minutes  ;D

Yes, sorry about that, I've been too slack and need to commit to doing it ASAP.
Yes, I often upload to Youtube and then go to bed, so they will always get it first, and it should appear immediately on the videos page of the blog as that is automated with my Youtube feed.

I've now updated it with all videos. And I also now await the emails and comments from people complaining that I'm "flooding" the channel with videos and not staggering the updates correctly to their liking. (Yes, I really do get those complaints)

Sometimes I really can understand why PhotonicInduction threw in the towel  ::)

I've not uploaded a video in quite a while, but last time i was able to get the youtube video ID as soon as the upload was started.
It obviously wouldn't play yet, but it had an ID.

This should mean that the video could be embedded on the website right away by copying the embedded code from any existing video and just changing the ID to the new video ID.

But again, i've not done this so i don't know if it would work.

That would likely work with the old style code, but maybe not the new style code.
In any case then I'd get people complaining that the video hasn't finished processing yet, and that's worse than delaying it.
Delayed released schemes could be used, but they really aren't worth the hassle.

I think the way it works is fine.  I also follow @eevblog twitter and normally see tweets from Dave when he is uploading a new video.

Another vote for leaving it as it is. Normally I wait until it turns up on the blog but if I'm bored and spot it on Youtube earlier then it's a bonus.
