EEV Blog logo

Hi All, hi Dave,

been watching the video blog for some time now, love your work! I'm not an electronics guy, my trade is graphic design, but I think the blog is great even for ignorants like me.

So, I've been meaning to contribute lately, and maybe some day my parcel will be featured in a mail bag segment. In the meantime, here's a logo for the blog.

Please note: I hate free stuff. Free stuff is bu**sh*t. Nothing is free. Ever. It's a lie. It's a curse. And so, I never work for free. But, you know, I thought I could make an exception for the great EEV Blog!

I like the conceptual design. I think Dave has a sort of logo. Not sure if he wants to change.

Yeah, I heard him say he didn't even want one, the blog's "off-the-cuff", etc... which I totally understand and find cool. But "if all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail", and so as a graphic designer I tend to solve problems by designing logos. Rarely ever efficient, as you might guess.

We went through the whole logo thing many years back and held a contest and it just didn't really work our. The name "EEVblog" is enough, and the "Dave Hand" is as close as it gets to a "logo", and the EEVblog name has a semi-official font and look people are used to.
People have always associated me with a name, not a logo.

Thanks for the logo, but ultimately I think if I had a logo it's got to be  a "logo" as most know it i.e. a symbol/emblem
Not just the name EEVblog written in a fancy way, because as mentioned the EEVblog name already has an established font, colour, and look etc.
I'm not opposed to a symbol logo (that's why I got the face & hand), but I don't see it as all that important. And of countless ones people have tried, I haven't really seen anything that looked appropriate, apart from the hand & face one.
