Forum editing post modification notification suggestion

So I have been irked a few times recently, I have the annoying habit of editing my post and having people respond, then not notice my edits, which occur slightly after they respond. I noticed if you want to make a new reply to a thread then the forum will notify you that there is a new response to the thread, so you can refresh and modify your post to reflect on the new response.

is it possible for this detection to be implemented with edits? I would rather make a new post then HOPE someone will notice I made an edit, but at the same time I don't like spamming my own thread. some warning would be nice. this is especially bad if you are the topic starter. I don't know if it warns people that an edit has been performed.
