I hope the guys at Brymen know Dave well enough, and there are no surprises when Dave will send his request for the package, such that "well when we did say you can have everything you want on the packaging we didn't mean it literally everything..."  :-DD

I'll be requesting plain brown cardboard packaging and will stamp it myself. There is something satisfying about that.

The blue logo version on the box, but I like the tilted first one for a shirt.

You would need a light brown box and a dark blue stamp to get decent enough contrast... but, again, Dave's call.

I've ordered a red stamp.
I see no reason why the stamp colour has to match the holster, as that could be construed as "bullshit"!  ;D

I can almost see this becoming the new defacto logo!
All it needs is the traditional EEVBlog colour scheme on the "EEVblog" font (no patchy stamp look), and the "No Bulls(logo)t" text below it (could be in the broken stamp font)

I am absolutely horrible at anything slightly artistic, however I think you are on to something here. Maybe have the No Bullshit in stamp font diagonally below the other part, in a different color (you graphics design people can figure out what color goes well with the EEVBlog blue).

Yes, it really requires someone who knows this stuff.
The EEVBlog "blue" has never really been a defined colour, although the new blue holster has a specific Pantone colour (3005C) (Hex #0077c8).

Cute.   :-DD

I have been conversing with Dave about fonts and some other tweaks to keep things a bit more consistent.  Once worked out, I will provide a revised Hi-res graphic for everyone to have access.

I should put that on my gates. Because these two scare the crap out of everyone - NOT!

I think I saw mine in that box!

Dave sent me one that arrived yesterday and I have to say, it is a very nice little meter, has a nice weight to it and the probes it comes with are beautiful. I actually think I prefer it to my Agilent meter, the holster makes it perfect for carrying about, the Agilent one worries me with its rubber moulded as part of the enclosure.

As for accuracy, with what I have measured so far it is well within spec (well atleast if I compare with readings from my Escort 3146A).

I agree about the box though, it looks and feels like something I would expect to pickup at super cheap auto.

For overseas viewers - Supercheap Auto is a car parts, tools and accessories retailer that is pretty much what the name suggests.  They are a big concern, though - 240 stores across Australia.

I am not a prude, nor do I care for political correctness, but......

You are selling to the public and trying make money. It would be in your best interest to not have the word "bullshit" on your packaging. It will possibly restrict sales. Sorry, better to be politically correct for this particular application IMHO.
I don't think Dave's target market includes the demographic you think it does.
I understand

I'm not sure you do.

but if you want to sell as many items as you can then you shouldn't artificially restrict the market at the beginning. I was stating my opinion in the case of this.

Try this for a concept: Dave might sell more of these if he puts a bad word on the box.

It's pointless arguing about specific colors in online forums. Everybody's monitor (and ambient lighting) is different.

Pantone, or STFU.

Just curious, how close is "the EEVblog blue" to the one used by Tektronix in their DMM916 meter (like there https://youtu.be/uqURkr9YVvM?t=143) ?

Have fiddled a bit (in between other priorities) and have this to show for it....

Not much different than before - except this one has the right font for "EEVBlog" and uses Dave's blue.

Hex #0077c8 is what is defined in the image.

What you see is purely a function of your monitor...

Just a thought: If you're using a real stamp to stamp the logo onto the cardboard boxes, you'll get the "stamped on cardboard" effect without using the fake "stamp effect" on the logo itself. The stamp should possibly be, I'd suggest, just a normal version of the logo without the fake effect, and the effect on the boxes will be real stamp effect... Errr, got that?   :=\

I'd like to blog the experience so far, but I can't.

Does the NDA lift once the product has gone to market?  :-+

I've got one of those meters, and IIRC, it's darker.
Can take a photo tomorrow.

We'll see, I've ordered one, albeit without the DaveHand logo.
