Electrophoresis Power Supply

  Thanks for the tip Dave. I'm just getting into electronics, one of my main interests is audiophile valve amps. I'm saving my money for some "new" equipment. In order to get balanced and matched tubes, it is necessary to test tubes at the maximum rated voltage and amperage. Up until yesterday, I thought I was going to spend a painful amount on a power supply that would give me up to 350v and 350ma. I just went on EBAY and got one for $12 and $15 freight. The best part of it is, I went to the manufacturer web site and it's a current model and sells for $1834US

Just keep in mind how miserably unregulated the output is.

It's a hobby and I'm almost out of projects. I generally don't fear hacking $12 devices.

Oh, I know, I'm not sayjng it's crap and you mustn't use it. Just saying, remember the poor regulation before you attribute a problem to something else.
