Engineering job interview tips

Dave, I want to say thanks for the tips from blog #7 and #27. They really helped me during a job interview :).

Can u maybe do a similar blog "Getting a girlfriend for engineers tips" :P

Yes i second that one ! it seems as soon as i tell a girl that I don't watch TV and like doing electronics they run well actually just vanish into thin air !

You know, I was thinking . . .

Maybe Mrs. Jones would be willing to write up a few tips for us on how to make life easier for our (present or potential) significant others.

I'll be she's got some great insights given the practice.  ;)

yea maybe she could have a one to one session with a young lady I fancy (who has rejected me once as she is so shy) and tell her what great husbands electronics nerds make

we're in the UK silly they are running around with art degrees just cause they made some silly 5 minute video after 3 years at uni. the rest are chav's

Very true! I can't begin to tell you how much it annoys/angers me with students taking pointless degrees just because there fashionable at the time. "Media", "Art" and wishy washy business subjects just to name a few. I could rant on this for a very long time...

The same can be said for electronics engineering. IME the majority of the students don't give a shit about the industry, don't learn anything of worth, and often don't go onto anything related to engineering at all.

They just did it because their patents wanted them too, their friends did it, or they couldn't think of anything else better to do etc.

Yes, call me cynical...

Dave, I couldn't agree more! I would honestly say 90% of the students on the University course I took won't see another resistor in their lives!
