Guest Video: Raising Awesome - Young Dave Jones
« on: January 09, 2018, 09:50:51 pm »
Can a young Dave Jones from the 1970's design a better computer than The Woz and Steve Jobs with their Apple 1?

Thanks to Sean Miller from Raising Awesome for filling in while I'm away. Check out his channel here:

I didn't really enjoy the guest video, it just seemed like it was trying too hard. (or not hard enough since young Dave had the wrong accent?)

On the other hand, I do like the 'making of' video! Good effort, even though the fake old cinema effect is quite grating.

The only thing this video was missing was the 1:1 or 1.25:1 aspect ratio ... sadly i don't think youtube would have liked a 20 fps upload to make it more 8mm like.

I liked the video.  It was amusing.  I didn't mind the lack of an Australian accent - they explained it as Dave having watched Star Wars so much that summer that his accent might have changed to American.

I also watched part of the "making of" video.  It was interesting.

Raising Awesome guy, you know that's a model of a Saturn V rocket, that was already around for about a decade by 1978?  I wasn't sure when you said you're showing the model half finished.  Maybe you knew the actual rocket was already finished, but just meant that Dave hadn't finished building the model yet in the 1970s.
