"microprocessors" was a full semester class back when I took it in 1978, and there were a lot fewer of them than there are now (whether or not you lump together microprocessors and microcontrollers.) I don't see how an hour or two of video could possibly do justice to the topic.

I did write an "Instructable" about
"How to Choose a Microcontroller"; written mainly for the hobbyist. If you look at it, don't forget to read through the comments, where a lot of people have made additional useful and interesting points.
It's a bit obsolete; nowadays I think that anyone who has to ask the question should just go out and get an Arduino...
At about $30, even if all it does is get you to the point where you can complain about it and ask more focused questions, it's money well spent. The support community is outstanding.
