Negative voltage episode

Guys,
I know there was an episode when Dave describes, several methods of making symmetrical supply from single battery.
Cannot find it :(

Please help :)

There really aren't many ways to do that. You can either use an op amp to create a virtual ground half way between the two rails (for low power needs), or you can use an switcher of some kind to generate additional voltages as needed.

Yes, you can take the two batteries, or take opAmp, or some bulk converter application. But I watched once the episode, when Dave described it, just cannot find it now :(

What do you need it for? For most op amp stuff, you don't really need a true power rail, just a virtual (signal) ground. Just connect anything you would normally ground to a voltage divider instead.

I have two application in mind. One measuring, so in this case the virtual ground with opamp would work.
The other is for industrial analog signal +-10V. But here I need to check the requirements for the IC I want to use.
