EEVBlog #39
« on: July 19, 2012, 11:34:01 pm »
Hey Dave,

Over two years ago you did a great job taking Microchip to task about the Pickit3 and its failings compared to the Pickit2.  Their response was just as hilarious.  What I would love to see is a follow-up blog now that they have had several years to address the issues.  My understanding is they have not really addressed all the issues and Pickit2 still had a richer feature set even with all the time past to make the changes their response seemed to suggest they were going to make.

Your following now is exponentially larger than it was back at episode #39 and your influence has made it far and wide in the various electronics communities.  Who better to hold Microchip accountable for doing what they said they would than you?  ;)

So how about a revisit to Pickit2 vs. Pickit3?  Did "Dick Head" really get canned or was that all a bunch of hand-waving and jaw-flapping?

Cheers,
~Chris

That engineer is not math savvy. Use 7-dimensional space and you can have 7 perpendicular (orthogonal)  lines. Easy.

It was public hand-waving of course.
This is news, maybe if there is a Pickit4 ?

This is the third time that video got posted here in the last days. Don't you think it is enough?

This thread merged with previous one.

I should send this to everyone here at Excavatoree-co.

Both sides will laugh and say "Yes, those engineers/marketing type people are exactly like that."

And this is why GM is sitting in hearings trying to sidestep questions about a 50 cent ignition switch!

Never bring engineers to customers* :o Usually the boss 'forgot' to inform everyone of the latest agreements and you'll end up with the engineer pointing out something that will not work. Let the folks with the sales smarts handle stuff. And put on that confident smile :P

*: I'm ofc joking, but my boss had a hard time keeping his mouth closed at a customer site - standing right next to our COO and the customer. You could hear him mumble something like 'this is shit, it ain't gonna work'

I don't read every single post on this forum. If I did, I would be a moderator.   :D
