Hi everyone!
Several months ago, I bought a DS1052E from a local guy. The scope was new but he sold it to me already hacked to 100Mhz. I didn't do anything regarding firmware update and the scope worked fine for everything I used it (very low speed stuff <200kHz).
Today, I wanted to view a 1Mhz sine wave and noticed that when I go from 500ns/div to 200ns/div, there is suddenly a lot of noise on both channels (more on channel 1 than channel 2).
The amplitude of this noise doesn't depend on the vertical attenuation (see pics). Each channel was 50Ohm terminated and DC coupled. When zooming further on the horizontal axis, it looks like the noise is some sort of 100Mhz signal.
I would be very grateful if anyone could share any ideas about what could be the cause of this noise.
Scope : DS1052E hacked to DS1102E
Software version : 00.02.04.00.03
DSP : 02.20
FPGA : 02.00
HardVersion : 58
Thanks in advance,
Mat
