Unable to login in mobile view

I can't seem to log in using the default mobile view for the forum. It complains about cookie problems. If I switch to the desktop view then I can log in fine, but I'm then stuck and can't switch back to the mobile view. Clearing cookies gets me back to the mobile theme but also logs me out. Is there any solution to this?

My apologies if the answer to this is posted somewhere, but I couldn't find it. I think I also solved it myself years ago, but have a new phone and have forgotten how I did it.

Typical. Just after I post, I worked it out. I'll post here in case anyone else needs to do it.

You need to go into your forum profile and then find the "forum appearance" settings. It's a hover-over menu so hard to select on a phone. You then need to pick a theme. It will fail with "too many redirects" but it does work if you then return to a working page.

As it's very hard to do on a phone and now I'm back in mobile view I don't want to go back over my steps to double-check it.
