Hi Dave: Don't nod-off and fall off your stool!!  I had the same problem with my tape dispenser; the fix is to bend the cutter up a bit (a degree or two) so the teeth get a better bite on the tape. Cheers, Mark : :)

I found another buyer one mile from me - can anybody beat that?

Hi Dave, I think you should throw a shipping party and invite some friends & family, provide them with food & drinks and you can setup an assembly line and get through all the orders in 1/2 day.

I have no idea what the packaging house charges, but it sounds like you would save some serious money.

Thanks for the videos!  :-+

Agreed, its surprising what friends can do for you if you offer them free beer!

With the manual taping, now Dave's finger prints are all over Australia.

I get that feeling all the time.

Interested to see if anyone gets an envelope with chocolate fingerprints on it.

I'm going to put my boards into a superglue vaporiser so I can get Dave's fingerprints, worth much more then silly chocolate.

I too saw my name and part address on there as well. The thing I had to laugh most about was the fact that anyone who had their information as anonymous had all their info there for the world to see.

You call that pale stuff chocolate? It ain't chocolate unless it is so dark that it sucks all the light out of the room and was formed in the middle of a collapsed star.  :-+

It would be interesting to see the destination statistics, i.e., how many orders to each country.

Ditto. And you could correlate that to population of said countries to see fractional distributions across the world

Maybe these lessons from Dangerousprototypes might have been handy: http://dangerousprototypes.com/2011/06/08/how-to-mail-pcbs-the-cheap-way/
(Even with these precautions I had a lost PCB on its way to me - shipping PCBs in the mail seems to be tricky stuff...)

And I only have 2000 or so more to go!
Dangerous Prototypes got off easy with only 1000

Dave,

I got the email about the problems with the Oz shipping. I thought the envelope self gluing might not hold. plus taping them together doubled the mass (like a battering ram).  If you tape anything I would tape the flap down on the corners or the edges, or better yet a thicker padded envelope.

Oh,  the US postal machines are quite brutal.  More than once I've gotten a letter back with pieces of a my original mail in the letter from the "machine ate it for lunch dept." or something like that. The letter I sent looked like you taped it to the underside of car tire and drove across country.  not much left of it.  The remains of what they dug out of the machine's gears.

thanks.

The rulers were sent first to Australia, THEN to the rest of the world.
Australians get their rulers sooner THAN everyone else.

Yeah yeah, I'm just bitter and have too much time on my hands right now, because I'm sick.  ;)
