Just a suggestion- instead of having an video that lasts an hour, why not split it up on Youtube into an EEVBlog  #1a, #1b, #1c etc. of maybe 20 or 15 minute chunks. That way Youtube gets to show more ads and you get more video views and more $$$.

There can't be many 1 hour TV programs that only have the one ad break.

Either way people use adblockers so there aren't many ads on YouTube to gain money from.

I could, but that's kind of the "old school" way to do it when Youtube had the 10 minute limit. It's rather annoying for most viewers.
When editing a video I do always look to see if there is a way it can be possibly split up into natural segments.
For example, I shot a ton of footage with Doug yesterday, and it will probably go into 2-3 more videos instead of just 1 big one.

A bit off topic ... I don't use ad blockers so Dave probably gets a few cents a month from the impressions I make on the channel.

What i want to say is that for some reason, that type of ad that comes over the video seems to me to be the most annoying kind ever. Don't get why would anyone think I'd stop watching a video to click on an ad and forget about the video.

I probably accidentally clicked on them trying to click the x button 99% of the time I click on them.

There can't be many 1 hour TV programs that only have the one ad break.

All programs broadcast from this country have none. In-program commercial breaks are against the law. Some stations get around that by broadcasting from the UK. I simply don't bother to watch them.

that's hot. I'd go back to watching TV if I could actually watch a 30min show AND HAVE IT BE 30MIN! shows are really 20min with 10min of commercials and the length of the actual show is decreasing as the need for funding goes up.

How does that work?  That sounds insane that this would be possible or legal.  Do you mean they literally have transmitters in the UK pointed at denmark, or they "broadcast" from the UK with a satellite/fiber link to a local repeater?

It is quit easy, actually. You set up your broadcasting company in the UK where it isn't subject to the Danish regulations. You then broadcast via satellite, the signal is picked up in Denmark and distributed by cable companies. This is not in violation of any regulation. Nor is setting up local sales offices to sell ad slots...

Seems only valid for Denmark then.

I never watch TV shows on TV. I Dl them so I can:
A) Watch them at my own time.
B) Pause whenever I want
C) Watch without 'breaks'

Personally I don't would be very fond of part 1, 2 , 3 video's. I dislike clicking them through, especially when watching on my phone.

Ditto.

Dave's videos are far better infotainment than anything on TV.

Well.. for me these long ones are much better. Watchig the youtube videos is quite often the time I sit away from computer and I'd prefer videos to be long enough so I can relax on a couch. I hate those 3-10 minute sprints some people release cause I have to be allways near the computer to select the next one ..

Short videos could be ok if there were working and well designed playlists, but at least on my experience those are rare indeed at Youtube. Or, I could try to find/make decent remote system so I don't be neat my normal mouse/kb to select those videos.
