I have 30 pieces Red Gold Plated Banana Plug and 30 pieces Black Gold Plated Banana Plug. I bought from China 2 years ago.

Price: 10 GBP for 60 pcs Banana Plug (delivery to the UK is included).

I don't think it's gold. There is coating remotely resembling gold (forgot the name), it is cheap and there is nothing special about it (except it oxidizes slowly).

Why I'm writing this? Well, when I buy "gold-plated" I really want to see gold-plated, not "gold for dummies". Whether I need it or not is another question.

The ones I bought from Ali Express stuck strongly to a magnet, indicating ferrous material.

I hope yours don't. Otherwise what you have got is simply "gold color plated iron" plug.

1. The conductor is made of iron instead of brass

2. There is a world of difference between "gold-plated" and "gold color plated"

i'm in china
recently i bought some solder type gold plated banana on taobao.com (local alibaba)
i dont care if it is gold plated or just the color because of the price is so nice

for general use it'll be fine at least it is not attracted by magnet
