There are lies, damned lies, statistics - and ADC/DAC specs.
Glider pilot's aphorism: "there is no substitute for span". Retort: "There is a substitute: skill+imagination. But you can buy span".

Thanks for the heads up - will grab some of them later today if they have anything left.

BTW for anyone here, stay away from their digital calipers; they are shit!

I've had a pair of their digital callipers for a couple of years and have been very happy with them. They have been reliable and the measurements have been repeatable, I have now way of knowing how accurate they are but considering they only cost me about £10 I am not complaining.

They do some £7.99 ones at the moment. They aren't as good as the old ones they did unfortunately. I grabbed some a week or so ago and measurements are not always repeatable.

Someone nicked my old ones :(

Have considered shelling out for some quality ones as they get used very often

I've had a pair for more than a couple of years (closer to 10, I think) and I, too, have been happy with them.  Measurements have been repeatable and I can open it out to some distance and then close them up to have the display hit zero - every time.  The only thing I didn't like was they drained the LR44 battery too quickly, even in storage.  So now I remove the battery when I pack them away.

I don't have any idea on their absolute accuracy - but they work perfectly well when I am just doing comparison measurements.

One of my colleagues brought one of their calipers. I checked them out against my calibrated mitutoyo 300mm set, they all came out pretty good +- 0.05mm I'd reckon.

Those organisers are indeed quite useful. A little flimsy feeling, but nice size trays and the price is right.

As for the calipers, I picked one up last time they had them. Seems repeatable, but it's really painfully slow at updating the LCD. My old, sadly fallen-apart chinese cheapy was much nicer to use.

They also often have stackable food containers (in two depths) which are very convenient for storing projects in. In fact, seems they have them online currently:

Also offered in Germany on March 9th: http://www.aldi-nord.de/aldi_ab_donnerstag_0903_5_2954.html

Swap you some ugly yellow drawers for nice grey ones. The Rollcontainer looks pretty nice, too..
