[Wanted] Sp101655 programmer
« on: August 19, 2016, 04:26:34 pm »
Hello friends, I am trying to repair Indesit washing machine which has a software issue (broken microcontroller). The microcontroller is named "SP101655" but I failed to get a datasheet for it of any kind.

I searched and found that people say it is the exact same Freescale microcontroller MC9S08GB60, and the chip does have Freescale logo. I want a confirmation of that if any of you do know it.

Here are some useful links that I got this info from:

MC9S08GB60 datasheet: http://cache.nxp.com/files/microcontrollers/doc/data_sheet/MC9S08GB60.pdf

A russian (?) forum discussing the same board: https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fremont-aud.net%2Fforum%2F41-22702-1&edit-text=

Useful photos of the board: http://www.elektroda.pl/rtvforum/topic2255167.html

and you can find the chip on aliexpress also.

My issue now is where to get a microcontroller programmer to program these MCUs? one that can take the HEX of a useful working one, then burn it inside a new one to be put as a replace.

Looking forward to your kind help.

THANKS!

I hope someone answer this or I will move it to "Microcontrollers" forum here.

I would expect the security features to be enabled, to stop competitors, easily copying and/or finding out the secrets of their software, and stop other nonsense.

From your datasheet link, above...

Quote
Security
The MC9S08GB/GT includes circuitry to prevent unauthorized access to the contents of FLASH and
RAM memory. When security is engaged, FLASH and RAM are considered secure resources. Direct-page
registers, high-page registers, and the background debug controller are considered unsecured resources.
Programs executing within secure memory have normal access to any MCU memory locations and
resources. Attempts to access a secure memory location with a program executing from an unsecured
memory space or through the background debug interface are blocked (writes are ignored and reads return
all 0s).
