[WTB] Broken Fluke 123 or Philips OQ0257 IC
« on: May 18, 2018, 06:32:42 am »
Hi,

I am working on a sick Fluke 123 scopemeter and I suspect the T-ASIC IC - a Philips IC marked OQ0257HP - is damaged.
Anyone with a non-working Fluke 123 that they'd be willing to sell?
I'm interested in the main board, so if someone has only that, that would be even better.

Thanks!

Ok, now I'm pretty certain the T-ASIC IC is damaged.
I desoldered it from the board, powered the scopemeter without it and checked a test point whose signal coming D-ASIC didn't look right before (looked as if it was being pulled down): now, the signal looks as described in the service manual.

Anyone with such an IC laying around?

FYI I replaced the T-ASIC in my unit successfully, not cheap but I hate seeing good test gear die.
My local Fluke service centre Celemetrix (I'm in ACT, Australia) had the part in stock at the time, about two years ago...

Fluke Scopemeter 123
Part: N301 T-ASIC OQ0257
Celemetrix part number #188987 - AUD$164.00+gst+freight.

good luck!

Thanks for that!
I too like to give gear a second chance but, at that price for just the IC, I can get a working Fluke 123 off eBay.
So, cost-wise, it doesn't make much sense to get a replacement IC that way.
In your case, it probably made sense because of additional considerations (e.g. you had the scope since new, knew its history, etc.).
