Doesn't look like we'll get the "dumpster" goodness this time.

I haven't made the trip ... yet.  I'm not expecting real bargains or dumpster fodder, so it's a 50-50 if I go tomorrow.

They advertised in a similar manner at our local Jaycar, one of two such sales in Qld, a week ago.
Underwhelming sale of stuff, still with a mark-up over Chinese prices.
Not easy, not hard, just need to be incentivised.

Well, I'm at Jaycar at Rydalmere - and things are starting to close up.
Very little of any appeal. The real "let's get rid of" stuff fitted on a single fold-up table.
There was no-one around to haggle on prices. They were all set-and-forget.
Most interesting was their DSO. 25MHz 500MSa/s for $199 (down from $549 - WTF?)

In short... you didn't miss much.

Apparently,  they were going to open up the warehouse like they did last time - but changed their mind due to lack of stock.

Anyway ... all shut up now.  Off to show SWMBO my massive haul of nothing.

She will be pleased.

Brumby, what you need is an EEVBlog Clearance.  Dave's SWMBO would be pleased, and you could pick up lots of Stuff (aka junk) which may come in useful one day.  The effort of getting permission just to attend would not go to waste.  Just the problem getting 'equipment' back into the house left to deal with.

"What's that?."  "A power supply."  "I thought you had one of those already!"  "I do, but this 'one' is different, it can do 30 amps continuous."  "Where did it come from?" (This really means how much did it cost)  "I have had it up in the attic for years."

Job done and not a lie told.  Just have to keep the other power supplies etc out of sight.  The other trick is equipment that
 looks similar.

BTW Watch out for "Silent Key Sales" they also bring out the vultures, but you need to keep an ear out in the right circles to hear about them.

Hahaha. My mrs has stopped asking "what's that", I found out if I give her a eager description of what it is and what it does then she loses interest after about 5 words, so she doesn't ask anymore. She also thinks all the "boxes" look the same, so as long as I can get the massive eBay shipping box in from the car, unpacked and disposed of, she's none the wiser.
