For sale -- a Conitec GALEP-4 Universal Programmer

Includes:
  * Conitec GALEP-4 Programmer
  * Parallel port cable (DB25 1:1 wired) - not original part
  * "Wall wart" type power supply with UK plug

This is a 40-pin pindriver-based universal programmer with a parallel port interface. The unusual thing about it is that it's incredibly portable - it'll fit in the palm of your hand and can be run from rechargeable AAA batteries (not included!) or an external power supply. Perfect for field service work, upgrading firmware on old kit or possibly mucking around with car ECUs. Who knows? The possibilities are endless.

I bought this a few years ago as a refurbished unit and have used it for reading out and programming EPROMs and PLDs for computer and embedded gear. It works fine, but the power supply and parallel cable have been replaced with off-the-shelf equivalents.

Selling because I just got a really good deal on a GALEP-5. Now I need to sell the old one to avoid the wrath of She Who Must Be Obeyed. My loss, your gain!


Current software v1.20.01 programs 6049 devices (12924 if you count the different package variants too) as of May 2013, with more added regularly.

EDIT -- I'm not expecting anywhere near the new RRP for this; I only included that as a comparison point. Incidentally, it seems Conitec are offering an EUR100 discount on a GALEP-5 if you send them a GALEP-4 (like this one) in part exchange.
