It's open to all EU residents so there shouldn't be a reason why you can't apply in Italy.

I didn't think Facebook allowed "share a post" competitions?

....be a reason why you can't apply in Italy.

I think mimmus78  meant there is no money in Italy to give away such a product...

ISTR reading Italy has some wierd laws on lotteries and competitions etc., but as this is originating in the UK it probably isn't an issue.

no I mean that in Italy there is a stupid law that regulate giveaway of objects/services with a value of more than 1 eur.

You should do a convoluted and costly procedure, including a notarial writing if you want to do giveaways (violator is subject to fines of 50 000 to 500 000).

It's open to all EU residents so there shouldn't be a reason why you can't apply in Italy.

Yes everybody can promote his products in this way all over the world, except Italians :-) (we love self-destructive laws)

EU - so close, but still so far away (for this competition at least).

KarlMag - Norway (Member country of the EEA, but not EU.)

But the offer isn't coming from Italy, and there is free movement of goods into Italy, so no problem!

Probably these laws are there to protect the state against people avoiding tax with some crazy giveaway scheme.
My friend receives part of his salary in "contests" every month. He always "wins". Up to certain amount (€180) these lottery wins are tax free.

I don't generally, but I've set up an account with a false name for dealing with those companies that seem to think that customer service and support through facebook is the way forward.

Don't do Arsebook or Twatter.

Exactly my thoughts.
I'd never join those sites.

And the company allthough nice move, actually looses credit here.
Why do they have to boost their likes "artificially" , instead of making the draw by the posts here.

Agree completely,  human nature not to give a company like that another look, not a good way to do business.

Seems they cannot comprehend that the rest of world can exist without those methods; fine if they include them but not at the cost of excluding all other methods  ;  still , their loss  ....

Why complain then?

Maybe trying to persuade them to give you an alternate path to enter?

Make a throwaway gmail account, attach throwaway twitter and throwaway facebook, monitor your throwaway email in case you win, discard all three when the price is given away.

Not worth the effort then don't do it, but they have to justify the impact to who is actually giving the item away for just a bunch of thumbs up and follows.

If an entry has no marketing value I don't see why they should even bother giving anything away to begin with.

I complain because to me Facebook and Twitter represent all that is wrong with the net.
The flooding of dumbed down for the masses, manipulation for corporate ends.
Instead of using the net to raise the social bar, it has been forced to a whole new social low
The net used to be primarily good information and exchange, now it is a cesspool with information secondary.
A company selling test gear, aren't their customer base supposed to be educated people, this sales act in itself makes me wonder who they think we are!
If we don't let them know how we feel, they will follow the rest into the mire, and I refuse to become another sheeple.

IMVHO.
