Worth turning up to if you can get there.
No online bidding that I can see, so odds of getting bargains should be good.

No online bidding that I can see, so odds of getting bargains should be good.

That's not what I get from this:
STEP 3 – BID
Enter a maximum of what you are willing to pay under “Your Maximum” - The system will start your bid at the lowest available increment and bid for you.
Then scroll to the bottom of the page, enter your Bid Number and Password and click ‘Submit Bids’
(PLEASE NOTE: You will be asked to confirm your bids)
Important Bidding Notes:
- Items will close at a rate of 2-4 items every minute (varies by auction).
- An item’s closing time will extend by 4 minutes when bidding occurs within the final 4 minutes of its scheduled closing.
- If you submit a bid prior to the auction you will be notified if you are out bid.
- You may enter multiple bids on a page before clicking ‘Submit Bids’; however, changing pages will clear your bids.

It's on my scheduler already! I only wish I had the space, the time, the $$$ to bid on one of these large PnP machines and play with it.

Mike, I suspect you would have fun with something like this:

Can you imagine stealing a whole rack's contents at bargain cost....

Unfortunately my company bank is too uptight to be convinced of loaning me enough. Or I need more training in outlining the opportunities involved.

I saw shelf after shelf of parts reels and was very surprised to see some pretty advanced and expensive parts there (AM5728, AD5933, Micron DDR) but these went for >$1,000 dollars. Perhaps cheap considering the amount of parts, but expensive for a hobbyist or perhaps a small company.

It was interesting to see some parts bins with mixed SMD passives - impossible to sort. :)

At any rate, I got a few gizmos for my lab. Pretty cool!

What toys did you get? I wanted to bid on this one, but my schedule would not have allowed me to travel for the pick up. Contemplated shipping, but costs would have been too high

The problem with large lots of parts like this is realising any value from them without spending a lot of time. Anything expensive is the sort of part that normal buyers of that part will only buy from normal channels.
It's also a lot of work sorting & cataloguing. You may get lucky & spot one particular nugget and bid solely on the basis of that, and anything else is a bonus.
You can probably shift a lot on ebay over time but it's a lot of work - been there - done that!

Many years ago I bought a van full (big van, very full) of components at a tender sale of a bankrupt assembly house. A handful of items I'd previously spotted covered what I paid. Took a year or so part-time to clear most of it out on ebay, and I have a lifetime supply of a few bits like pin headers left.
It was initially a lot of fun going through boxes not knowing what I'd find, but got to be a pain after a while.

I got two bench DMMs on the cheap with valid cal and a few things and bobs.

Certainly. The distributors also guarantee origin and any defects - something that is harder to do for the higher priced items such as the ones I mentioned.
Also, one thing is have a couple dozen parts, other is have reels or a palette of 13,600 LiIon batteries (one of the items) - pretty hard to move, unless the planets align and you get an eager buyer.

For the larger items such as the oven above or the many PnPs, lead formers, chambers of all sorts, stencil printers, dozens of expensive stencils, it was an interesting (and sad) sight.

Oh, you don't want to see the stock of reels and fully traced parts I already have.
A whole shelve of those reels would not get back on the market. Maybe half or such, but most would end up in my engineering stock for my Freelance Design service and Test Lab.

But the location and (to me) non-transparency of this event prevented me from considering the bid.
