Fluke 87V - used stash of 10+ - Brisbane/QLD/Australia
« on: May 24, 2017, 08:51:20 am »
Hi eevb'ers,

The forums have helped me immensely starting out with/in electronics.

In the easiest way I can contribute back:

I've found a company that has 10+ fluke 87V's - they are the 87V e2 kits that come with the retracting alligators and the magnetic hanger etc in the soft carry case.

I've purchased one - it's got some slight markings on the yellow plastic, but still has the screen protector on it - they've had minimal usage looking at the external packaging and looking at the probes.

In any case - $500 seemed to be the going rate...

If anyone wants one I imagine postage would be $20 or less on the east coast.

As Dave has said, maybe it's a trap for new players... but I'm happy with mine and happy to organise a few more... i'll do a few tests, voltage, ohms and capacitor and the two fuse tests before buying.

I'm not warrantying it or anything, but it appears to be a reasonable deal - plus the serials weren't registered with fluke - not sure if that means anything?

Cheers
Matt

$500 Seems quite pricey - I just bought a new one off ebay (in UK) for £190 = $330.

It is slightly strange, given the help the forums have given you, that this is your first post. (Perhaps I'm being excessively suspicious.)

Giving someone $500 to go buy a used meter off someone else isn't a great idea either.

I guess the average price at most retail outlets here in Australia is $1000 +.

There are only two on eBay in Australia - the cheapest is $650...

I figured I could help at around $500 they're either new or near new - which seemed okay to me - plus I was able to go in and use/try before buying - you're probably not getting that or a refund through an overseas seller, and you're waiting weeks or months for delivery.

I'm not pushing the stock either - it's just available.

In any case, thanks for the warm welcome.

In any case, thanks for the warm welcome.

It's not a "non warm" welcome it just seems a better idea to give the details of where people can go buy these direct if they wish.

Some may want to point out also there are cheaper options out there. You could argue it's poor form but since you're personally not selling your own meters I think it's reasonable.

Shipping from the US is about 3-10 days normally dependent on who you go with. If you weren't concerned with the extra clips etc you could get a brand new 87V for $530 AUD (reshipped from the US).
