The Reject Shop may have the Philips AA packs on sale and dirt cheap as well, not 100% sure though.

Brilliant, I'm down to only one or two 9 volts left and use them frequently and only recently thinned out the ridiculously huge collection of wait a minute there's still a little bit left AAs and AAAs.   

I've also been looking for an excuse to call in and view the disaster currently underway at Masters which are in close proximity to our local Good Guys anyway, many thanks.

Thanks for the heads up. I got 2 packs of the 9v batteries over the weekend and they come in a nice little storage case too. The local store had no stock of the AA / AAA ones, so I have ordered them and will collect when they are ready.
