FS (UK): Hakko Fx888 Soldering station in box
« on: April 20, 2014, 08:03:47 pm »
Hi all,
I got a Hakko FX888 unit for sale. It was originally purchased from ebay under impression it was an UK mains official branded unit but turned out after inspection to be a clone model. Not sure about its capabilities as it has not been used having shortly afterwards I went ahead and bought a weller unit. It comes with iron, station and stand unused in box. Drop me a message if interested asking £50 posted for it.  I can post anywhere in UK only or cash on pickup welcome if live close to cardiff south wales. If require anymore pictures please let me know.

thats an interesting problem

spoof i think if it was me i would contact who you bought it from and try
get them to take it back because its not a real hakko, i think selling counterfeit good
is illegal in most countries weather the buyer knows it or not, maybe contact hakko tell
them your situation, they might be gratefull enough to give you a nice discount on a genuine one

Yes, that's what I would advise you to do as well. If possible, mention the words "small claims court" and that will be all that's needed.
I'm not saying we should kill all stupid people. I'm just saying that we should remove all product safety labels and let natural selection do its work.

Out of curiosity, how did you figure out it was a clone? I can't tell anything different from the real thing in your picture.

You could tape over the name so it doesn't say Hakko anymore... and then sell it not as a Hakko but a "888-style soldering station."
