106 A! You could have some fun with that.

Yes you can and they're very easy to use as a regulated supplies, also there's an option for feedback adjust so you can go +/- ~1.8V either way.

Do you have any pictures of the inside? I don't need 106A@12V, but I could really do with a couple of 1300W+ PFC boost stages, and I'm assuming that at this power level that:
a) they're using active PFC and
b) it's somewhat separate from the isolated DC-DC stage.

Seeing an internal pic would confirm, and also give some hint as to how easy to re-purpose they would be.

Hi,

There are over 20 screws to take the case off so I'm going to pass on that, however there is a wealth of information of people tearing them down and modding etc here, also youtube vids of people doing various mods if you look.

They are using active PFC which I assume would be separate from the DC-DC.

Thanks for the link, led me to this, which I believe is the internals of the HP supply in question:

Construction looks a bit too cord-wood for easy modding, so I think I'll pass sorry. I also have a couple of ~800W Dell supplies which have a separate (and likely easier to re-purpose) PFC board which I'll probably end up using, but the HP was tempting due to the turn-it-up-to-11 factor!

I suppose you need ear protection to use one of these?

I think so, everyone in the thread was complaining about it and adding resistors/speed control
