I reckon that price is too high by a big margin.
If it was an 85047A you'd be in the right ball park. They don't appear often on eBay and do sell around that level.

On the plus side, with a matching pad, apparently they work at 50 ohms and up to 3GHz.
However why would you pay more than an 85046A which is 50 ohm and 3GHz? They go for roughly $500 from memory.

For an 85046B I'd say $350 would be closer to the mark due to the less desirable spec.

Is there an actual buyers market for these? I am literally sitting on maybe half a dozen of these for either 2-port or 4-port analyzers at work...

I think there is - most of the A/B/C model 8753's which go cheap on eBay don't have a test set included.

I've got one, which is why I keeping an eye out for a cheap 85046A or preferably an 85047A. I have an 85044A T/R set only.

When 85047A's come up they tend to go for crazy money - here is the first search result:
http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBidsLogin&item=281772651590&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2564

This guy just sold two for $1375 and $1250, they didn't even have original cables. That is surely at the high end.

High end for sure.

An 85047A went for about $750 near the end of last year.  I see Keysight themselves are selling one for the best part of $2000 OBO, tested with 30 day warranty.

You can likely get an 85046A for a best offer of around $350 if you are patient... but I wouldn't be surprised if one or both ports fail the directivity test (however much you pay).  FWIW, you can replace either bridge in the 85046A with the bridge from an 85044A, assuming you can find one that passes the directivity test.

This is almost identical to what I have sitting around:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Network-Analyzer-HP-8753A-S-parameter-test-set-/272530371387?hash=item3f7413733b:g:9gUAAOSwLF1X5Wqn

Also have the new, unwrapped, service and operation manuals for the analyzer with it as well. Military surplus and for all I have seen (without putting it through the alignment procedures) it is all intact and working fine.

Looking to eventually sell it but didn't think it was still an in-demand model.

I also have a 8753D at work but we decided to put it to use since we only have a R&S I am repairing, the 8753D, and a Site Master.
