FS UK - Red Lake MotionScope HR-500C High Speed Video Camera
« on: January 11, 2018, 10:58:12 am »
I picked this camera up last year but now want to sell as i know i don't have time to work on it as it does have a fault.

It consists of a RedLake HR-500C MotionScope recorder/controller (based on the MotionScope PCI) and a 2482-05 Camera head, interconnection cables and a flight case.

Video output is PAL or NTSC, camera records upto 500 FPS in colour

the image has terrible colour rendition and some sync / imbalance issues which gets worse as the camera warms up or depending on what FPS is selected, at the time i made a video on it the thoughts were there was some kind of ccd supply voltage issue but i never explored any further other than replacing the three electrolytic caps in the camera head (which made no difference).

my original video is here if you want to see the parts in detail (and see the faults)

Note there are no lenses included.

Looking for £60 including UPS shipping to the UK.

A bit more info:
This camera is a standalone version of the PC MotionScope. The tantalums inside it are awful and need replacement - it's one of the reasons behind the bad image. Especially the tantalum right under the sensor.
I have a small writeup about it(a very similar model):
https://spirit.re/projects/motionscope.php

It's a good, rare piece of high speed imaging history for collectors, but that's about it. Don't expect good images from it.
The asking price is good, I'd snag it if I was in the UK :)

They're easily accessible, but there's a lot of them(dozens, if not more than a hundred).
