i'm afraid it will be hard to sell... the pure end users and "lazy" tech guys are buying synology. the not so "lazy" tech guys are buying small servers (e.g. HP microserver) and running a full OS configured as NAS.

As someone who has had experience with equipment like this failing early I would be very hesitant to go used... sorry OP.

I have two of the previous generation for ~2 years. They've been solid. The stock firmware seemed pretty decent, but I went ahead and got debian running on mine. I've since upgraded by building a Kabini-based mini-ITX server in a small 4 bay case for my main server, but I am using the others as secondary servers.

They are a great NAS.

Happy to sell just the enclosure, if drives aren't required.
