All,

I have some Flip Dot diplays that have been pulled out of an old sign that we are currently upgrading. 
I feel bad just dumping them so putting them on here for a week to see if someone wants them.

These panels are big! The 7Segs/5*7 are 38.5cm x 25.5cm each!

13x 7 Segments
10x 5*7 Segments
5x "1" Character
4x "Dash" Character
4x "Colon" Character (Photo shows 2 but there are 4)
1x Control Box
Assortment of connector cables cut randomly.

They are all untested so these are AS-IS. There are broken flip dots on some of the panels
We do not want money for them, hence FREE
But we do ask that if you want them. you take all of them.
They are located in Bundall, QLD, Australia - So pickup only - Unless you want to organise your own courier.

If they are not picked up by 31/1/2018 we will be disposing of them as we don't have room for them.

I suppose you could try listing them on ebay, novel display technologies usually sell well. Shipping is going to be the problem for anyone who is not local though.

James, I could but honestly I don't want to wait around / deal with random queries about it.  I'm not looking to gain anything from them.  Hence why I've listed them on here for free. This is just in case some one local is interested.

If I was in the neighbourhood, I'd probably drop in - but it's a bit of a drive from Sydney.

I'm curious, though ... could you box them up and if so, what size and weight would we be looking at?  I just want to get a feel for courier cost.

We are actually making our own flippy dots, video in the not too distant future.

Box 1 - 22cm x 70cm x 66cm 14.7kg

Box 3 - 56cm x 56cm x 20cm 8.1kg
Box 4 - 32cm x 50cm x 54cm 14kg

We use Temando at work here to send stuff.  Its free to join them and should give same pricing.

The pricing I've provided is doing a quick price estimate to Baulkham Hills 2153.

While I am still interested, my desire to acquire had more of a flavour of "Let's not trash these" than "I have a project for them".  I could find somewhere to stash them that SWMBO wouldn't notice (for a while, anyway).

As such, I will step back and let Dave have first shot at these.
