looking for affordable led ticker

hi everyone,

iam looking for an affordable LED ticker display preferably with some sort of rs232/usb or some form of serial interface.  i have found several online but are very expensive if anyone knows where i can find one the help would be greatly appreciated.  size 1-3" x 18-36" would be nice using it to display rss feeds in my shop so i can see what going on with out actually getting online.

Make one yourself, you can get cheap LED panels which you can interface really simply.

Do a search on AliExpress.  There's bound to be something suitable there.

I bought a couple of these a while back and hooked it to a PC's serial port (And USB2Serial port) and it updated states from a database using java. Bought them for around NZD$150 new so you may be able to find some at these price. They are dual colour, only caveat is that they use some obscure serial commands but they where cheaper then the $800 equivalent.

I have a 1 line 18x 5x7char bi-color led display that works but i don't have the software to reprogram it and the software doesn't seem to be available. The demo runs as soon as you plug it in, so i know it works fine.

It needs new controller code written and maybe a new mcu (probably an old mcu)
So it would make a nice project for someone.

If you're in NZ and can pickup from Auckland i'd be happy to sell it for $50
