Parting out my HP 5335A Universal Counter
« on: January 15, 2012, 01:27:39 am »
The input board on my venerable HP 5335A has gone tits up so I decided to part out the unit since shipping costs are quite high for a large heavy unit. Besides the busted input board, A channel is broken and its probably an old op amp, everything else works. It has no options. So what I do have is:

A4 Main Logic Board (power button cap has snapped off but will be included)

A5 Display/Keyboard and front panel.
A2 Amplifier Support board
A1 Power Supply board.
Rear Panel with transformer and IEC input.
A7 HP-IB board with A14 rear connector board
Front Filter
A6 Rear Panel board.
Frame and panels.

Shipping is from Canada so shoot me an offer on the parts you need.

Hi Don,
Would you be willing to sell me some of the keypad switches ? I Have an HP 8903B that uses the same front panel switches.
Shipping would be to NJ, USA 07452 residence.
Thanks,
Chris

Well, I could sell you the whole front switch panel I suppose. I don't want to go desoldering switches. Shoot me a PM with an offer. Alternatively, I could sell you the busted input board, which also has lots of the switches on it but they are push on/ push off rather than momentary.

I have a 5335A that's missing the button for the power switch, so I have to keep powering it up with a pen. Do you happen to still have that button?

That's a common problem and mine was also busted. Unfortunately, it was sold with the CPU board, sorry.

I don't suppose your HP 5335A had rackmount brackets/handles?
It seems to be ridiculously hard to find 4U mounting kits for HP gear. Other sizes come up fairly often on ebay, but 4U are like hens teeth.

I've almost certainly got the brackets but not the handles.

I suspect that postage would be prohibitive however if you're interested then let me know.

Well they fit in smallish envelope (taped to a cardboard backing) so the postage isn't too bad.
How many pairs can you spare? Just one?

The frustrating thing is, the brackets to fit with handles are different from plain brackets. So if I buy plain brackets, I can't later add handles if I find them.

I'll have a look and see how many 4U brackets i have, I guess I could get your cricket team to carry them back, it doesn't look like they'll be weighed down with trophies.

Hi,
I am interested in the A2 Amplifier Support board.
The serial number of my 5335A  is: 2140A02270
There are at least 2 types of cards A2. I can send you  picture of mine, or vice versa, for to see if they are the same.
If it is the same  I am  interested to buy it.

You can contact me at: sonic63@libero.it or in MP

Thank You
 HAPPY NEW YEAR to everybody

I have no idea if a transplant is possible but it sounds like your board is a newer version so most likely not.
