WTB: Broken HP 3478A or its ASIC (De / Eu)

Hi!

Some time ago I got a HP 3478A multimeter, but it has an issue.
It displays OVLD when measuring DC current (no matter the current) and when measuring AC current the display dosen't change.

Thanks to a friend of mine I was able to test it with a known good frontend-asic which fixed it.
So now I'm looking for the frontend-asic or a broken 3478A with a known good asic.

Hit me up if you've got one or know where I can buy it, maximum budget is around 50€.

Have you checked the manual?
From the pictures I could find online, the ASIC looks like it only has a couple of precision resistors in it.
The one with golden traces on top, it's similar to those you find like on HP-3456A:

So my guess is that if the manual has the resistance values of ASIC listed (HP-3456A manual has them listed) and since HP-3478 is only 5 1/2 digit, you could use a couple of precision resistors (like the ones from Vishay/ Alpha Electronics) and replace the burnt ones inside the ASIC with discrete ones soldered on top.

BTW, I have a big box filled with various more or less precision resistors. I you tell me what you need, I can send them to you, in exchange for rounded up shipping

I have 3478 that I bought for parts on ebay and it's beyond repair. I've kind of put it to the side and could check if this asic is any good if you want to.
Let me know if  you are still looking for one so I can dig it out and see if it works.
