A 140S isn't in the few HP catalogues I have, what does it look like? Round? Rectangular? Display grid pitch? Side pins? EHT voltage?

These older CRTs are easily swapped between equipment and manufactures, the only real problem is will it fit.

Woodchips,
It's a 5 inch round CRT with side pins. I believe the high voltages are -2350, and +5000V, like the 140T. I don't have the manual for the 140s.  I'm measuring -2180 and 4610 v.  What is display grid pitch?
Thanks,
Steve

Sure I have one from a 140. Whether it is worth sending is, of course, another question altogether.

The graticle is divided into squares, they can be 0.9cm, 1cm or 1.2cm most commonly, but I would assume the round CRT doesn't have an internal graticle anyway?

Look for a CRT from a 545 or similar scope, probaby fit. A rectangular CRT from the newer scopes should fit, need some metalwork though.

Woodchips,
Are you selling the CRT from a 140? Does it work? What is the part number? Do you have a picture. My 140S is a spectrum analyzer.
It may be worth shipping to the USA if it is a close enough fit.
Thanks,
Steve

I have a HP 5083-0652, from a 140A,  crt on the way. It seems to be the oscilloscope version of the spectrum analyzer crt I need.
If someone has a 5083-9039 crt for sale, I would still like to know.
Thanks,
Steve

Installed my new CRT. Works great. It's an oscilloscope tube, so the grid is different and the phosphor is faster, but it works.
