I am interested in buying the HP 547A current tracer to complete my collection of vintage HP logic probe kit.

Great stuff! I have the complete kit (probe, tracer and pulser) in the original pouch. Still use the probe every now and then. Unfortunately I have no plans of parting with it (yet). ;D

I think it is a great tool set, even for modern electronics repairs.  Using a FLIR Thermal camera seems to be like a brute force method compared to the current tracer.

I don't have one but I've got a 545A that I bought new old stock about 20 years ago. Fantastic tools in that series. Then again most HP things are!

They show up on ebay now and again.  I use mine along with a 546a pulser to find shorted tantalums.  Takes longer to set things up than to find the shorted cap.

And no, I'm not interested in selling it.

There's a set of HP probes (may or may not include the current tracer) in the photos Fraser posted. You might want to watch for that.

@artag,

I do indeed have a complete set of the HP probes comprising , logic probe, logic pulser, current tracer and logic clip. They are in excellent condition complete with grabbers etc.

I am happy to take offers over £75 on the set as I do not need it.

I managed to purchase one lot of over 10 HP probes and most of them have no tip, but I got a complete working HP547A current probe in the lot.  Thank you for the offer, though.

In case anyone sees my posting above regarding the availability of the HP probe set, it is now sold.
