WTB Tektronix 555

Hello I know it is a long shot, but I think I really would like to my grubby hands on a 555! can you folks sell me one? point me in the direction of one? and Most importantly! What is the fair market value of one Working? and one non-working? Thank you for any help you may be able to lend.

If you really want one, start haunting craigslist, hamfests and amateur radio forums.  Also join the tekscopes list.  You'll really want to pick it up in person and I hope you have something bigger than a hatchback.  Expect to take a while to track one down.  One of the last times I was looking for a specific older piece of equipment, it took over a year to find one.

Shipping that beast successfully is possible, but few people have the ability or desire to pack it correctly.  Shipping must be by freight and it will cost several hundred at least.

Does a great job of warming your lab in the winter.

Cost?  Anywhere from free on up.  Probably several hundred for a working one.  Depends on whether you're in the right place at the right time.

What part of the country are you in? I have a 555 here in NJ. Hasn't been fired up for several years, but I can check it out if you're interested.

I am in MAINE and would be Intersted in traveling. as long as the price is right. What is the going rate on one of these? and is it complete with power supply

I have one if you want to come get it.  Also included is a spare for parts and a full set of microfiche service manuals.  It has a ripple in the 150VDC power supply that I can't run down.  The wonkey display in the picture attached I attribute to the Power supply problem.

When you think how many premium 6DJ8's one of these have then could keep a dozen amplifiers running for years! Over a hundred valves, tubes, in a complete scope weren't there?
