pointless waste of money unless you visit a track.
most western country's are now broke and the roads are crumbling. >:(

You started doing that in the 19th century, some of their grandsons own buildingblocks and have more money on the bank anyone of us will ever see.  ;D

These overpriced mobile death traps are for rich gun runners, drug dealers and spoilt oil baron dummy spitting offspring to help them pick up and flaunt cheap women masquerading as classy ladies.  :palm: :palm:
Yeah, Tom Cruise has one!  ;D
In our country criminals stopped buying the expensive italian sport cars, hummers, suvs with golden mirrors etc because they were stopped continuously by the police, they attract too much attention. They switched to insuspicious rental and second hand cars.
The police however has not evolved, so now illegal stops are made and lawsuits started by DJs, new money people and other persons that still buy these kind of cars  ;D
BTW if criminals do a heist or other hit and run, they steal Audi Sx cars and stationwagons. So I think a new law should be passed that however buys an Audi Sx should place it in a garage with alarmsystem or he will be prosecuted for abetting crime  :)

In socially and morally advanced countries like France, Sweden and Australia, it is considered poor taste, rude and crass to flaunt wealth. In these countries a decent person is not how much he can boast or save face, but how much he gives to others and the community. So such cars are extremely rare here.

There is no way to park that car. You cannot use it on the highway, because the suspension is for the speed, not comfort. You cannot use it in the countryside, as it will kill you in a fraction of a second.

This is a car for people in countries with too much money, nothing to do and without taste and class. Basically for Saudi Arabia.

Y'know what, you're wrong.

I've seen several Veyron on the road, had a nice chat with a lovely bloke who owned a Veyron, that was in a National Trust car park, he seemed a genuinely pleasant bloke who was justifiably proud of his car and was happy to chat about it and life in general.

There's an occasional appearance of a Veyron driven by a rather fetching woman in Manchester, she's not at all keen to chat, there's also a Ferrari Enzo kicking around Manchester, the driver is always smiling and is usually fairly impressed when people know what the car is.

They're rare but that doesn't mean they're not out there being driven.

Same thing was said about the McLaren F1, there weren't many of them but again, I've seen a couple and have even seen Rowan Atkinson driving his out on the A590 in Cumbria.

Going downscale a bit, friend of mine has a Ferrari F355 F1 in his four bed semi detached house's garage.

Next to his Bentley.

If I could afford a Veyron or Chiron?

Yes, I'd have one, yes it'd spend a lot of it's life in a centrally heated secure garage but hell yes, I'd drive it on the road and I'd have a metric f*ck ton of fun with it...

Of course I'd need a Bentley to collect the T&M bargains as well.

A car for rich people to crash on the highway because they are too stupid to know how to drive it.

It gets better. In Slovakia one mafio..errr.. businessman with close ties to the political elite had the previous gen Veyron. For the most part it was taking up only public parking and collecting parking fines (there is a lovely photo of a Veyron with a clamped wheel online) because he didn't really have means to neither drive nor maintain it after his business hit a dry patch. It ended up for sale recently.

That brown car is soooo f'kin ugly... Blarrgh...

if i had the money, i'd rather have an 8x8 APC.
something like a BMP4 or OT64
no concern about the road conditions(or presence of!) or flooding or being key'd.
insurance probably penny's - it's not like it would be damaged in a crash!

the only issue would be swapping out the engine for something compatable with the latest bolshevik rules laid down by the environuts.
probably EURO6, unless that's not good enough for them now!

Actually, the Emirates.

There are a few Youtube videos, of Bugattis and similar supercars running in desert highways.
There is even one (not a Bugatti, something else) catching fire and burning to the ground.

There was a Lamborghini I think that had a reputation of catching fire, Gallardo or Aventador maybe?, there was also a Ferrari, in fact I saw one ablaze on the hard shoulder of a motorway a few miles from my home, complete with rather too calm footballer owner stood a safe distance from it (I regularly see Manchester United and Manchester City players driving their toys to practice sessions)

Italian cars basically. You should buy two of them, so you drive the other one while your car is sitting at the mechanic. Like a wife and a mistress, you love both of them. Also have the Roadside Assistance on speed dial on your phone.

Except, Lamborghini are owned by Audi/VAG now, as are Bugatti.

Not that it'd stop me.

We used to have a salesman who owned a Dino many years ago, he was utterly disgusted by the amount of time it spent in the garage and drove a Ford Fiesta when the Dino was being repaired.

So, he spent a lot of time in the Fiesta  :-DD
