Here is a good PDF from 1972 on the Apollo Guidance Computer, (AGC).

For those who are interested it has some of the more detailed info I have been able to find.

You also have http://klabs.org/history/build_agc/ where one guy built one in his basement.
Should you find yourself in a chronically leaking boat, energy devoted to changing vessels is likely to be more productive than energy devoted to patching leaks.

Also, look for a documentary series called "Moon Machines". Episode 3 was about the Apollo Navigation Computer. They were at one time available on Youtube in low res versions.

Some of the early chips they would weigh and then soak in Freon. After a while they would pull them out and re-weigh. Any that gained weight were rejected because that meant there may be imperfections in the casing. Little old ladies would weave the programming into rope memory. Workers assembling the gyros were discouraged from bathing or getting sun tans because flakes of dry skin could end up inside the gyros and cause them to fail. All kinds of little tid bits of info like that.
