AvE youtube channel, the Canadian Dave?
« on: April 27, 2015, 03:52:34 pm »
I've been watching this guy's videos recently and he's made several references to Mike's Electric Stuff and in this one a Dave Jones reference. (:37 seconds in)
I'd recommend a look, I'm not sure what line of work he's in but it seems like mechanical engineering or something to do with tooling or mill work.

When I watch I keep thinking that this guy would have been good on the Red Green show.

He's hilarious with all the what I'd almost call Canadian Rhyming Slang.  :-DD
He also says "Chooch" a lot.  Not sure what the reference is, but I think it means vagina in Hindi / Urdu.  >:D

yeah, AvE is entertaining and also gives you  a lot of useful hints... and he tries the seemingly "stupid" stuff for you ;) so you can learn from his mistakes ;)

Also just as an aside, a good example of a Canadian accent for those over on the other side who have trouble discerning American and Canadian accents.  You can definitely hear the Scotch and Irish influences. (I suppose that's why Nova Scotia, means New Scotland).

When I did some contract support work for Microsoft about 10 years ago, around 7:00PM every night, for whatever reason, our MS Office support would transition from Hyderabad, India to Nova Scotia in Canada.  It amused me all the support guys there were all Mc(something) McDougal, McGinty and the way they pronounced "Outlook". It was somewhere between "Oat-Look" and "Oot-Look" as opposed to "owt-look" as we typically say in the American vernacular.

The larger the government, the smaller the citizen.

He really knows the insides of his power tools. Very educational, no jigglecam and easy to listen to.
