Who cares? It's an arbitrary number anyways, so why not set the milestone here instead of getting technical?
Are you asking me who should care, or telling me I shouldn't care, and you don't also? I'm well aware I'm .
As for it being an arbitrary number, well obviously it is in practice. However, are you really sure that's the position you want to take? The numbers that were skipped weren't skipped for reasons of being arbitrary.
And if the production of 1000 videos is the true milestone, rather than the use of #1000, then it could have been celebrated at that time whenever it should occur using the equally arbitrary number choosen at the time.
I do thank you for your response. I always like examples of irony done well.
I am asking as a general rhetorical question, who cares.
That is the position I want to take. Have you also factored in the episodes and videos that were not numbered in any way? Even if one accounted for the missing episodes, it still wouldn't be his 1000th video.
There are also no rules that dictate what can or cannot be treated as a milestone. If you feel that the skewed numbering of the 1000th episode should be taken into account, you are free to do the maths and celebrate on your own terms, while me several other people are choosing to celebrate the official number that Dave had placed on the video as the milestone.
