Cost of implementing 6LoWPAN vs ZigBee?

Hi.
I'm not too familiar with how to test a product that I want to sell on the market. I guess I need EMC testing and CE marking...
Say for example I want a product using 6lowpan, I use a transceiver like CC2520.

What kind of approval of the product do I need before I manufacture them and sell them?

Would it be more expensive to implement 6lowpan myself into a MCU and using a IEEE 802.15.4 transceiver, then to use an existing Zigbee module?
(I guess the IEEE 802.15.4transceiver chip comes preprogrammed with an IEEE adress from the manufacturer)

I'm not sure if using a pre-made RF module that's already been tested negates some of your requirements to test the finished product.

Anyone know?

The PR material from Microchip on their MRF24J40Mx modules (based on their MRF24J40 802.15.4 transceiver chip) suggests that a pre-certified module eliminates the need for any RF certification on your part. In Europe (and other jurisdictions) I think it's just a matter of self-certifying the rest.  So if you're a small developer doing a small run it probably makes a lot of sense to integrate a pre-certified module rather than try to integrate a transceiver chip into your PCB design.
