OK; this is really strange.  At a local store (Princess Auto -- that sells cheap tools and surplus) I spotted this on the shelf.

Well, you said it sells cheap surplus. I think this qaulifies as cheap surplus. Also notice the "d" logo trying to hint at Beats. :P

Funny I remember when portable CD players first came out and that was all the rage.   But they would skip if there was any bump, then they came up with antiskip technology.  Truly living in the future there!
