The end of an era... again. First it was Dick Smith Electronics. Now its Dick Smith Foods.

Aussie food, eh? Dick Smith used to sell "Anzac Cookies". I never touched any of their food products since. There were complaints and eventually their :bullshit: product was quietly removed from the shelves and replaced with "Anzac Biscuits". Some-one has stuffed up big time. The term Anzac is protected under Australian law and cannot be used in Australia without permission from the Minister for Veterans' Affairs; misuse can be legally enforced particularly for commercial purposes. There is a general exemption granted for Anzac biscuits, as long as these biscuits remain basically true to the original recipe and are both referred to and sold as Anzac biscuits and never as cookies. How could Dick Smith Foods have ever received approval to use the word "Anzac" in "Anzac Cookies?" The fines for misuse of the word "Anzac" can be severe, including 12 months imprisonment and heavy fines. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anzac_biscuit

Even so, Dick Smith does have a lot of concern for where Australia is heading, especially with the unpopular Big Australia policies from our politicians. I hope he focuses on these matters and we finally get some politicians who will listen and act in Australia's interests ahead of their own interests.
