Seems a revolutionary scope, but... They claim no missed trigger events, but have a 1Mwfm/s rate. What if I'm trying to trigger on every event at 1.1MHz?

How many of Dave's viewers are in the market for a scope costing around 20k Euro with another 15k Euro of optional extras?

I have one RTO1022 at work (demonstration unit). This scope is cheaper than Tek or Agilent ones and it looks very powerful.

Today I did some basic tests for some minutes, nothing too advanced. I only explored 0.1% of its capabilities.
After 5 minutes it crashed! No surprise, it runs over windows embedded! Also it takes too long to start-up.

It has some nice-looking menus, but too fancy for my taste. The touch screen is very annoying. It’s difficult to touch very close to the edge of the screen and you need to do that in order to close some windows. The best option is to use a mouse, but that’s a necessary requisite for every scope of this class.
For the first impression I think it’s very hard to use although the interface was meant to be user friendly. But it’s simpler compared to any Tek scope.

As a final note, let me tell you that the blind time between waveforms can be very low (<200ns) but this is only valid in ultra-segmented-mode which is limited to a fixed number of acquisitions.

I also have one Tektronix MSO5204 (demonstration unit) but I didn’t have time to test it.
Best regards,
johnmx
