EU Agilent VS Fluke New price war .. or looks like it
« on: May 18, 2011, 01:42:28 am »
For any one who has an interest to see how the prices are playing in Eurozone,
mostly about the models
Fluke 87V
Fluke 28II
Agilent U1272A ( or similar )

Check those links. ( All prices includes VAT )

Poland :
Agilent / http://www.distek.ro/en/Category/Test-and-Measurement-Equipments_Handheld-Multimeters_Agilent-434

Fluke / http://www.distek.ro/en/Category/Test-and-Measurement-Equipments_Handheld-Multimeters_Fluke-414

Germany / http://www.conrad.com/Digital-multimeters.htm?websale7=conrad-int&ci=SHOP_AREA_17622_1101010&page=3

I also found the new Agilent U1272A ,  to be priced around to 350 EUR in France .

Well usually I do not get to price wars, but this looks interesting .
As from those examples , it looks that Agilent follows another tactic .
And the what ever comparison just in the pricing level , gives an serious margin to Agilent.

Especially in Germany that retails the 87V at 560 EUR with VAT  in comparison with the U1272A at 410 EUR !!
That is 50 EUR even more than the pricing found in France and Poland about the Agilent one.

Right now I am acting more like an News reporter , than offering any opinion of my own.  :)

Even so if you find more European pricing from other countries add them on this thread too.

Certainly very interesting prices.  As I wrote before, all Agilent need do in the 1272a vs 87V promo is simply underprice the Fluke, and folks will think twice about which meter to get, if both meters are about equal in performance!  Its very odd considering how weak the $US is to the Euro, it should be cheaper ... take the tax structure in that country for those differences.

So far, we don't have such price differences in the US.
