It should have been Belgium-Croatia but since Belgium is out, I hope Croatia takes the cup.
Such a small country, only 4 million people, so much soccer talent, go for it.

There's lots of talent in England and many other countries too. The problem has always been nurturing it and building a decent team who work well together.

I wish them luck.

You have individual talent and you have talented teams. We have seen that some of the best players in the world can't lift a further mediocre team to the finals.
Sometimes I think that talent brings expectations that lay a burden on the team ;)
The croatians were physically already tired from the previous matches still they kept on going and going.
I hope they recuperate well before the final otherwise it is not a fair match. They already lost 1 day to France and some of their players were and are not fit.

Croatia has a good team with Modric and Rakitic, but France has a more powerful team with a spectacular and very fast Mbappe. I would like Croatia to win, out of sympathy, but France will win.

The English, it was clear from the beginning, that they would not get very far, I think they only won the world cup once in 1966. They invented football, but internationally they have never excelled.

The surprise is given by Croatia, which has never achieved anything in world football. I like Modric a lot, he's a very skilled player, Rakitic also attracts attention, he has a very powerful and accurate shot.

It is going to be a very entertaining and exciting final, unless one of the two teams firmly imposes on the other, from the beginning.

It sure looked like that in the first games but against Belgium he shined through absence, haven't seen anything spectacular that evening from him, on the contrary at the end he acted like the worst kind of soccer player.

Mbappe

Like Messi, CR7, Nemair and others.

How can you be so sure?

France on paper is the favorite hands down, but do you remember who won the UEFA Euro 2004? That´s the beauty of soccer.
This was the World cup of small teams and countries, where team work is much important than money and VIP overpaid players.

Italy and the others bigs should learn a lot from what happened so far, even from the defeated Japan there is a lot to learn.

BTW: I tried to buy the Croatia shirt on Amazon.de over 60€ and 2 months delivery :wtf:

Not 100% true:

Now this is 110% true, disgusting and an insult to soccer. Like Neimar his brother. They both (and many others soccer players) should play rugby for two year and learn what does it means to be injuried.

Not 100% true:
Ofcourse but just saying sometimes a player shines in a match and sometimes they are a shadow. In that match overall I haven't seen much of him, but that could also be a compliment for the Belgian defenders. However as the Belgian goaly said in an interview: "strange tacktick having the strikers play 30m in front of their own goaly  ;)

I hope and expect that the team of Croatia will show another spectacular game on Sunday, to win the championship.

Ante Rebic plays on "my" team Eintracht Frankfurt (no pun intended  8)) and he has  literally shot the famous Bayern Munich in the recent German Cup match, made 2 beautiful goals for victory.

Eintracht Frankfurt is a mediocre, but obviously underestimated team here in the German Bundesliga.. so some similarity...

And I like the good and honest sod football, for which Croatia is a synonym.

Oh yes, Croatia, lets see....

- goalie got a warning from FIFA for displaying a personal message
- player got a warning from FIFA for making a political statement
- coach team member got fined by FIFA $15,000 ,banned from the tournament and sent home for making a political statement
- fined $70,000 by FIFA for violation of sponsorship rules
- fined $13,000 by FIFA for fans offensive behaviour
- got a warning from FIFA for displaying a fascist banner

Did i forget anything? Does not seem to be the most disciplined contender but rather bunch of anarchists. Thanks for contributing $ 100,000 to FIFA though.

Politics aside .... the question is: Can they play?

Nothing in that list directly relates to their abilities on the field.

I will not comment on Croatia's offenses, but apparently you do not realize FIFA is a corrupt organization that sets rules to enable them to fine players, coaches, and teams to pad their own wallets. How can you be happy about FIFA getting fine money?!? Absolutely mental.

Switzerland got fined as well, and everyone knows that that country is a cesspool of anarchy...  ;)

I enjoyed the England Croatia match, nice to see two professional teams playing, no fouling or rolling around on floor. England didn't have the pace in the second half and the Croatian team are older and wiser. I want to see Croatia beat France.

Yup the team that really played soccer in the first half was punished by the schwalbe from Griessmann and a discutable penalty. Oh well at least the french started playing halfway the second half instead of their shamefull time consumption in the previous match.

As one sports commentator once remarked: "Unjust decisions are part of football's allure"

noun: allure;

    1.     the quality of being powerfully and mysteriously attractive or fascinating.

The referee did not do anything extaordinary awarding the penalty. I watched the most if not all of the matches and penalties were given for much less than this one.

1 it was not intentional
2 there was no advantage to be gained, there was no french player behind the guy, even if he has not been there and the ball went further there was no opportunity.
3 the acting VAR would not have given the penalty he said in an interview, but it was a difficult decision.

The same VAR could not intervene with schwalbe resulting in the free kick that caused the first goal, he found that terrible but those are the rules.
