Firefox hosed or Forum hosed?
« on: March 18, 2018, 12:28:29 am »

Didn't see a place for issues with the forum so I'll try here...

And, more likely it's my browser.

I use  the Firefox 59.0.1 (64 bit) browser. If I go to EEVBlog and then right click on a topic (I chose Beginners)and choose open in new tab I get an improperly rendered web page.  Could a firefox user try this? If yours is working it'll be time for me to reinstall Firefox scan for malware etc...

Strangely, as long as i don't try to re-open EEVBlog in a new tab it works fine.

Looks like there's a problem with the website cache. Try clearing history and data, it might just be a corrupt cache. Otherwise, the browser is corrupt.

Just tried it on a machine that had 58 and worked perfect. Updated to 59.0.1 and it's doing the same as yours. FUBAR!

I'm running Firefox 59.0.1 on Ubuntu Linux and it works fine.

It might be a problem with browser upgrade. Try press refresh to reset browser: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings

It usually fixes rendering issues after upgrade.

Thank you!

Now I know it's not some kind of funky malware/virus on my pc. Also, forgot to mention I'm using the Windows version on Win 7.

59.0.1 on W7
From the forum list opening each forum on a new tab, it's Beginners that seems to have trouble every time. Wierd.

I use the latest Firefox ESR 52.7.2 (64-bit) on Win7Pro with NoScript.
Never had a problem.

FF 59.0.1  32 bit on Ubuntu Linux 16.04.1  -- no problems.
FF 59.0.1  64 bit on Win7 Pro -- no problems.

Both installs are using uBlock Origin.

Not sure if there's any correlation, but the latest 64 bit Firefox for Windows is completely screwed when browsing Ebay on one of my machines.

I repeat, do the refresh/reset: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings

Tried  it . Didn't fix it.
Changed from Allow Firefox to install updates  to Check for updates but let me choose to install them and
reinstalled  58.0.2 back. Again.

Went to Firefox options | Performance. Turned off hardware acceleration. This fixed my problem.

Fixed my problem with EEVBlog.  Updated Firefox & turned hardware acceleration back on. New tabs are working properly now.
