At least she'll be safe if she decides to investigate what a power socket is...someone I know tried that with a knitting needle and a cork screw when he was three and remembers that moment quite clear to this day  ::).

Me too.  If you have never stuck your finger in an electrical socket, you don't really know in your bones that electricity is dangerous :)

are you talking about me? but not the needle in socket. it was a bare hand on bare exposed live wire.

You never forget your first "Bzzzt" experience, do you? I can even tell you the make of the socket and where my mum was when I started crying after the event. That cork screw is still somewhere in my mums kitchen.

so ok. it was not me who touched the live wire with bare hand in an attempt to repair a floor fan, it was "someone i know" :D maybe thats the better thing than poking the Fluke's probe into the eye. No fluke back then.

Dave.

I've done the "these probes are sharp" lesson - "See, it's hurts when you jab yourself." It's trying to get the meter back that's dangerous. Imagine a three year old with a U1272A flailing her arms holding the leads and screaming "It's MINE - it's MINE!" ;) Amazing how fun the continuity tester is :D

The top says "i love dad, he's my hero"  8) Not that she picked it!

Rest assured she wasn't playing with it for long, infact it was only while i took the pic (luckily i heard it beep when she turned it on!) Hopefully Mammy won't leave it where she can get it in future, and i won't leave it where Mammy can get to it ;)

I haven't zapped myself. I remember years ago i sat sat on teh edge of the bumpers/dodgems and i dropped my keys, when i leaned forward to pick them up i got a right shock.
