A word of caution, unlike other types of metal used in cutters, these stamped metal cutters are made of hardened steel, but brittle and very little flexibility. If you cut wires above its rated capacity, it can simply snap. So they are good for "electronics" sized wires, but don't use it above its ratings.

My suggestion: Practice that rule with any brand name sidecutter and it will last you forever.
There is nothing worse (regarding sidecutters) than a 40€ Lindström with dents in the blades because you tried to cut a steel wire. Speaking from experience here.

It is one of those dreaded mail-in rebates. I never manged to get such a rebate when not located in the USA. And inside the US it went wrong occasionally, too.
I highly recommend that everyone interested in the rebate and not from the US first checks with Weller if they will honor the rebate if you aren't in the US, and if the will use a suitable way of payment. You don't want to get a stupid cheque in US dollar drawn on a US bank. Depositing such a check in your bank account outside of the US can cost you an arm and a leg in fees.

I got a tiny just visible dent mark in the blades of my Knipex, because I used it once so to strip a tiny copper wire.
I will post a picture in the other thread, but even so I am starting to loose faith about all those hardened steel gismos.
Since when copper can damage hardened steel ?

@Kiriakos-GR: take a bar of solid copper and hit a steel knife sideways. You will be surprised, but copper can damage steel.
For stripping wires, use the right tool. When I was a young kid I was stripping them with my own teeth, and I still remember copper taste. I can even tell when the copper was fresh!

Absolutely, take a look at the pdf file linked to show the difference in how a cut is made. Pinch cutters last much longer and may not dull or nick as easily as shear cutters so its a better general purpose tool.

Well if some one had the brain to make one Flush Cutter, with a tiny hole at the bottom of the blade,
just for cables striping, I would be happier. :)

The blade has the wrong shape, it will not whitstand the force applied to the cable when you pull. That's the secret.

Except perhaps christening your new cutters wiring up a battery box and forgetting to disconnect the 24V Lead Acid batteries before you cut through the leads to them. Both at the same time. :-[
